Description
George F. Kelley enlisted in the 14th Mass Infantry, and soon after the regiment was redesignated the 1st Mass Heavy Artillery, Co. “M” on March 14, 1862, reenlisted on March 16, 1864. He was wounded at Petersburg, Va. on August 1, 1864. He held ranks of private, sergeant, 1st sergeant, 2nd & 1st lieutenant.
There is a fine piece of paper on the bottom front, with his info (from an old collection of the regiment). Nicely signed on the reverse with rank and unit designation.
