Description
CDV – Henry Eugene Davies -Early View as Colonel 2nd NY Cavalry.
This full standing image shows Colonel Davies in his full dress frock coat. He began is Civil War service as a captain in the 5th New York Infantry, then transferred to the 2nd New York (Harris Light) Cavalry, rising to the rank of full colonel by June of 1863. From his time as brigadier and major general he was in brigade and division command in the cavalry corps. He was wounded at Hatcher’s Run, Virginia in February of 1865.

Very good with some roughness on the ride side of mount, affixing slightly the image, some soiling as will.
