Description
This unidentified infantryman from the Mexican War period, is wearing his 1832 regulation jacket. I believe the image was taken from a daguerreotype from the late 1840s era, and retaken by the photographers, “N.S.D. & Co. 1865” this being the ink cancel on the 2 cent U.S. Revenue stamp on the reverse.
Some staining and foxing, but nonetheless a nice study image of a rear U.S. Army uniform jacket.
Very good.
From the Michael McAfee Collection.
