Description
CDV Of A National Lancer In Full Uniform With His 1840 Wrist-breaker. An older man posing nicely with his 1840 saber cradled in his left arm. His uniform is very much unchanged since the the Lancers were organized in 1836. The photographer is Hamilton, Boston.
Just prior to the war, the National Lancers were attached to the 1st Massachusetts Light Infantry, but when the war began were incorporated into the companies “C” and “D” of the 1st Mass Cavalry.
A very good – fine condition image with clipped corners at top and trimmed at bottom.
