Description
CDV Signed – Sergeant Nelson B. Felshaw, 5th New York Heavy Artillery.
Felshaw mustered with the 6th Battalion New York Heavy Artillery on September 11, 1862, into Co. B, and later transferred to Co. K of the 5th New York Heavy Artillery. He was promoted to sergeant in May of 1863. Felshaw mustered out with the regiment at Harper’s Ferry, WV in late June of 1865.
In 1864, this regiment was utilized as infantry and saw combat in the Valley Campaign, with major engagements at Snicker’s Gap, Va. in July of 1864, Winchester, and Cedar Creek, where the regiment suffered 2 killed, 7 wounded, but unfortunately 202 POWs as a result of the surprise attack of Early’s forces in that battle.

Very good condition. Image may be trimmed along the bottom edge, but does not appear to be cut.
