CDV – Unidentified Union Private wearing a waterproof forage cap cover. The soldier stands before a painted backdrop wearing his 4 button sack coat and this forage cap protected by a waterproof cover made from India- Rubber on thin duck material.  These items were usually not issued, and purchased privately by the individual.
