Civil War 1855 Bayonet & Scabbard

Civil War 1855 Bayonet & Scabbard, An honest old veteran in untouched condition. The bayonet is US marked, and has an even patina of brown metal, with mostly smooth metal beneath. Only a few small patches of dark rust.  18 inch blade, with no visible markings on the socket.  Locking ring is missing the tightening screw.

The bridle leather scabbard is very good without any open seam. The frog is curled from poor storage, and has an old label on it that once yielded a name or unit, now unledgible.

Never cleaned, and perfect for a matching cartridge box and waist belt to go with it.
