A nice original set of accoutrements including:
- “A.W. Decrow” 1861 contract cartridge box, complete with original tins, and box plate (missing one of the leather thongs), some flaking and light wear overall, a nice example. The Decrow box is rather a scarce contract, made in Bangor, Maine. He was awarded a contract for 10,500 pieces which is rather a low number, compared to all the boxes contracted for during the war.
- “S.H. Young” cap box – very good without wool fleece.
- Buff waist belt and 1839 pattern US oval plate. No markings.
- 1855 Springfield Bayonet with scabbard. Buff frog, and black bridle leather body with some wear on edges.
All of these are likely put together by a previous collector, but all match perfecting and ideal for a good display.
