Description
Civil War Cap Box – “US” stamped On Main Flap is the only marking, other that circular pie shaped stamp. All sewn construction.
Most of the wool fleece remains inside along with the cone pick.
Some scuffing to the flap surface, with some wrinkling, but sound and fine overall. I found another similar box that is a match in construction and “US” stamping, that was marked on underside of flap “W. C. McClallan (sic) Springfield, Ms.”
A fine example.
