Description
A nice example of a dug federal cartridge box shoulder belt plate, found at Hooker, Ga. This item was de-acquisitioned from the Mattatvck Historical Society, originally a gift from the Woman’s Relief Corps – G.A.R. The printed tag is about 2 inches long, and white ink used for identification. Great patina, slight warping, one ding on rim, and one mounting loop gone.
The original tag will accompany this lot, not with the other item from the same museum (a cartridge box US plate), a US oval cartridge box plate listed on this site.
Hooker, Georgia is a short distance southwest of Chattanooga, TN, just below the border.
64mm diameter.
