Description
This 1/6th tintype image probably taken sometime after the Civil War, shows a young man wearing a shirt, sergeants trousers bloused in boots. The chasseur pattern cap has a band of color around the base, but unknown as to unit, etc. What is interesting is the accoutrements he is wearing; 1861 cartridge box and sling, waist belt with cap box and bayonet in scabbard, with a Confederate rectangular CSA plate.
The subject holds in his right hand a Colt Army revolver.
The image is sharp and clean, placed in a mat and frame under glass.
