A nicely decorated oval silver plated snuff box, identified to a “J. Lussey,” in Old English script. His first name initial appears in the center of the star on cover. American flags hang on the outsides under the large star, with a flying eagle beneath; cannons on either sides. An elephant is etched on the underside, perhaps meaning this individual “Saw the Elephant,” meaning had battle experience.
More decorating on the side, with hearts, etc.
All the engraving is 100%, but I can’t find the individual.
Shows nice honest wear on the cover (one side mostly) to plate, otherwise in very good condition’
Well worth researching.
