This Spanish copy of the French Lefaucheax revolver is made in 12mm pin fire. Barrel marked, “ORBEA HERMANOS – EIBAR.”  Serial number stamped on right side of frame, “23753.”  The revolver has a loading gate for loading and extracting cartridges with an assisting ejection rod (in housing that is part of the frame). Tall blade and bead front sight, on the 6 3/8 inch barrel.

Hammer and frame retain about 30+% of case color. Cylinder has nearly 60-70 % blue, Barrel and frame about 40% finish in protected areas. Traces of case color on the trigger guard, backstrap, and but.  Walnut grips are original to the revolver and in very good condition. Bore is fine.  Mechanically sound.

Research indicates that these Spanish copies of the LeFaucheux probably were made just post Civil War, but likely purchased for the American market during the early westward expansion era.

A nice example in very good – fine condition
