Description

This Remington Zouave percussion .58 caliber rifle I believe is un-fired, with bright bore, no visible primer residue around the cone/breech area. The barrel retains nearly all the original blue finish, and only extremely light storage rust appears on the surface overall, but this will clean almost completely. There is a thin coat of oil remaining around the bayonet lug and rear sight and other protected areas. The lock and hammer retain 95% or better case colors under a light coat of dried oil. If cleaned will show much brighter. The walnut stock in in excellent plus condition with only slight rubs and dings. The brass furniture is excellent, with the bands appearing to have never been cleaned, the buttplate and the patch box look as if they received a light cleaning in recent times. The inner patch box contains its original spare nipple. Inspector cartouches are extremely clear. Very little room for improvement with this one.

Mechanics, markings, edging around the lock and side panel are excellent plus.
