Civil War Officer’s Toiletry Kit – Edward Christmann, Philadelphia.  Leatherette covered cardboard box with impressed design, containing all the necessary items for grooming while traveling.  Certainly could have been used by a traveling gentleman, but this one was purchased several years ago at auction once belonging to James Frasca.

I have photographed all the components, and only one item seems to be missing, and by the dimensions of the empty compartment it may be a comb. Other items are clothes and hair, mustache, brushes, cylindrical bone tube that held the shaving brush and powder, tin container for soap, squared razor strop with wooden handle, mirror, and one razor made by Geo, Wostenholm & Sons, Sheffield. Nice label for Christmann.

Height – 7 inches.

Some rubbing on corners, and a bit on the sides.
