Colt (or Whitney) .31/100 Caliber Revolver Cartridge Packet.  “SIX CARTRIDGES, WHITNEY’S or COLT’S PISTOL, 31/100 CALIBER. /  A Superior Quality of Powder is used, and these Cartridges are warranted equal to any made.”  This may predate the Civil War by a few years, as this packet, similar to other Colt related packets has a wooden block drilled.  Split block were much stronger and came in during the early war years.

Complete with string opening tab, and just a few small flaws.
