Connecticut Revolutionary War Document – 7th Conn Regiment.

This document is for the  payment of supplies of sugar and coffee at the remaining Conn. troops left at Jockey Hollow Huts in June of 1780. The document is signed by Lt. Philemon Hall of Guilford, Ct. for the above issue of  men of the 7th Regiment where Hall was the regimental quartermaster.  The names of those left behind are listed on the front. The men represent companies of the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 9th. The men were commanded by J. Cleveland of the 1st Co. – 13 men total dated June 15, 1780.  Cleveland signs on the back from a John Barnes -Commissary.

The Jockey Hollow Huts were located at Morristown, New Jersey, and were the Winter quarters for the army in the Winter of 1779-80. These men must have been left behind to protect the camp, along with other men from other states.

Rag paper measures  6 x 7 inches.
