Description
Dug Hawkin’s Zouave Belt Plate. Cast brass French made buckle worn by members of the 9th New York Regiment (Hawkins). The plate is 2 3/4″ x 2 1/4″ approximate. Dug by Mike McAfee years ago, and unfortunately the location it was dug is lost. The belt loop and hook have been broken away along with an upper corner.
I have included an image of one of Hawkins Zouaves, from the McAfee Collection that I sold a while back, showing this very style buckle.
A scarce buckle.
