Description

An old used early Indian Wars cavalry McClellan saddle girth, unmarked (or rather no markings visible). Early features having a 5.5 inch wide girth of linen webbing in blue and tan color stripes. The leather safes for the “D” ring and roller buckle are in very good condition, with more wear showing on the buckle leathers and keepers.  Very little of the original black japanning remains. The center leather strap (sewn in three sections across the breadth of the webbing shows the same crazing. The webbing shows soiling, but is quite sound. Stitching on one side of the webbing on one of the leather safes has come loose.

A nice early Indian Wars- Custer era cavalry horse accoutrement.

Very good.
