Description
A great souvenir brought home from the war, is this early U.S. Army flag armband annotated in period ink, “Worn By American Troops Invasion Of Southern France. The code name for the invasion of Southern France was ‘DRAGOON,’ which began shortly after the Normandy invasion.
This painted oilcloth armband is the early style without a sewn edge. It is a obvious bring back souvenir by an American GI. The original safety pins remain in place on the back.
Typical folds, and wear, and I’d rather have them this way than in new condition.
