Miniature medals on three rows: Air Force Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit w OLC, Soldiers Medal, Bronze Star, Air Medal w OLC, Air Force Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 3 campaign stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal,
Miniature Joints Chiefs of Staff Badge, hallmarked NS MEYER, NY. in clutch back, and two AF buttons -chain linked for the Mess/evening dress jacket.
General Lawson’s full dress visor cap for general officers, size 7 3/8. Named on USAF Certification tag under the sweat band, “R.L. Lawson (hand written).” Label has a 1970s era tag.
2 photographs (5×7″) in color of Gen, and Mrs. Lawson, and another Air Force brigadier general and his wife, taken while in Europe as Deputy Commander US Forces, European Command. (1983-86).
All in fine condition.
General Richard L. Lawson , USAF – Born in Fairfield, Iowa in 1929. He attended the University of Iowa and graduated from Parsons College in 1951. While at Parson’s College, General Lawson enlisted in the Iowa National Guard and later called to active duty with the 133rd Infantry Regt. as sergeant major at Fort Riley, Kansas. He was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in Nov. of 1951, and was then assigned to the 133rd Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron.
