Description
This is a superb image showing a mounted cavarlyman using various equipments. There are a number of questions with this image however. This trooper is using a good number of the 1912 horse accoutrements, etc, but seems to be lacking other important equipment.
I don’t see a cartridge belt, and holster. Without the cartridge belt, how is the rifle being supported other than the butt placed in the boot? He wears the pistol clip pouch on the bandolier. He appears to be using a watering bridle and not the standard bit.
An interesting image. There may be an ID other that “Hardy”, but the backing has never been off the original frame.
