Identified Sailor’s Uniform -USS Atlanta Spanish War – Very Early 1900s, identified to George H. Heinicke. His lot consists of jumper (with gussets, and stars on back trimmed in light blue thread), trousers, and cap, all nicely embellished with sewn decorations, and colorful interior lining (trousers only). The cap has the fancy sewing as on the uniform Also there are three portrait photos, one identified to a friend, and the one I believe is Heinicke is the larger cabinet with a boatswain’s whistle lanyard around his neck; A large deck shot, and a small cabinet of USS Atlanta entering the port of Havana in 1903, a copy of “The- Sea- Lawyer” a special publication of USS Atlanta dated Sept. of 1902; a large, finely colored handkerchief of the Atlantic Fleet, Heinicke’s past commander’s Jewel from his USWV post, “Brookfield Camp 123 – 1938, and a small number of USWV booklets, etc.
Fine condition overall.
A nice grouping, hard to find this complete in this era.
