Description

Alton R. Sedgley, from Wakefield, Mass. was initially in Co. A, 6th Mass in 1895, 2nd lt. in 1902, 1st lt. 1907.  He and the 6th regiment were mustered in May of 1898, and fought in Puerto Rico, eventually under the command of Colonel Frank Rice.

This corp badge is for the 2nd Army Corps, 1st Division. and the ID for Lieutenant Sedgley (misspelled on tag) is dated “April 1st, 1902” in period ink.

The badge has no maker hallmarks, and is pin back with open catch.

Fine- excellent condition with a tiny piece out of the seam.
