Illustrated Letter By Clyde A Risley To Michael McAfee -1987. Clyde A. Risley, along with his partner, William Imrie, established IR Miniatures in 1963, a company that set the standard for historically based and animated figures, known world wide for their offerings of military miniatures. Clyde Risley was the military artist, and William Imrie was the sculptor.
In this letter to Michael McAfee, Risley is thanking him for his assistance in sending information on the Louisiana Zouaves. Mike McAfee was the Curator of Military History at West Point for 48 years, and an avid collector of military items, with particular interest in Civil War Zouave units in period photography.
The color drawing on the letter, displays a Louisiana Zouave in his correct uniform, expertly done, dated and signed.
Fine condition, and most suited for framing.
