Only One I’ve Seen.

This is the second time I have own this Mills Patent Woven Belt Company Pin. Now, I did say in the title that it was a factory workers pin, but I really don’t know that; it made good sense… This may have been a short lived promotional, or indeed what my initial guess was; one thing is certain this is the only I’ve seen in over 35 years full time dealing and collecting.
The pin is stamped brass, has a simple hook catch on the back, no maker marking, but could very will have been made at the Mills factory in Worcester, Massachusetts. The 1 1/2 inch pin is a faithful miniature of its 45 round woven belt with the “US” “H” buckle. The period must be circa 1880’s.
A VERY RARE Mills related item.
