Model 1874 Waist Belt and Buckle

Model 1874 Waist Belt with the 1872 Hagner pattern US buckle.  The bridle leather belt has very faint marking for ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL about 3 inches from the keeper side. The belt has the original adjustment holes with several added in the period of use.

Belt has a crackled-scuffed finish, but the leather is sound, and has the leather slide present. The brass cast buckle has a nice old mellow patina, and most definitely original. Has some numbers stamped in on the back side, (see photo) but don’t know there exact purpose.

A mainstay for the Army from 1874 to 1902.

Belt length is set to take a  34 inch waist, and adjustable for adding at least another 5 inches.
