This personal history of service in the 1st U.S. Cavalry Regiment with the Modocs in California, and later in Montana, using letters written to his son during his Indian fighting days.  Good reference and account of the 1st Cavalry in the west in the later part of the 19th Century.

Very good condition, with some fading to the covers mostly around the edges.  A tight copy.
