This buckles are marked on the facing, “Bannister’s Centennial Pat. Mar. 15, ’64.”  Most likely tin over nickel plating. They measure about 2 inches long.

The old tag attached reads, “Buckles worn by J. Williams at the Great Centennial Exposition held at Phila 1876.”  The back of the label is period, and is made for a firm in Philadelphia, Cresswell, Slack & Lalanne, Importers and Jobbers of Dry Goods, Market St….

I have no other history than what you see.

Nice souvenirs from the 100th year of our Country’s anniversary.
