Real Photo Post Card – Maching Gun in Action Camp Cody, Deming New Mexico C-1917. The machine gun looks to be a Hotchkiss M1909, used for a short time, and was used against Poncho Villa’ raids in the Southwest, where this photo was taken.

The three men are armed with .45 ACPs, and the 30 round clips can be seen beside the gun. Camp Cody was built in 1917, as a training center for troops heading to France. These men appear to be infantry.
