Description
State of Connecticut Pay-Table Officer, 1 April, 1783, receipt for money paid to the Town of Tolland, Connecticut Committee of Supplies. Signed by Samuel Wyllys, Eleazer Wales, and Finn Wadsworth- Pay-Table committee. Noted and recorded on the docket.
Samuel Wyllys, was a military officer who served at the Siege of Boston in 1775; Lt.Col. in Spencer’s 2nd Conn. Regiment in 1776; and colonel of the 3rd Regiment of the Continental Line, and commander of the Conn. militia in the late 18th C.
Eleazer Wales, a local civil servant in the Hartford area; served on the pay-table officer from 1780 to 1785.
Finn Wadsworth, was a major in the military during the Revolution and served in several battles, but resigned from service to to declining health.
Fine conditon, but one small hole in the center cross fold area.
