Description
Souvenir Gavel From Lookout Mountain.
A crudely made gavel made from local wood from Lookout Mountain, looming over Chattanooga, Tennessee, and site of the Civil War battle that took place there in November of 1863.
Simply constructed of two pieces of wood, the the main section carved “LOOKOUT MT.” The sides are written with ink, with on side reading, “….May 24, 1902,” and the other side very thin, but appears to read, “19…battle of lookout mountain” ?
About 8.5 inches high.
No other history.
Very good condition,
