A good history with veteran’s brief record of service written on the inner flyleafs.
THE FIGHTING FORTY-FIFTH / THE COMBAT REPORT OF AN INFANTRY DIVISION. BATON ROUGE, 1946 (Army & Navy Publishing Co.). Large format, hard embossed cloth with patch and WWII campaigns. 200 pages, well illustrated.
Endpapers have maps showing the Division’s movements during the war in Europe. The front endpapers have a written record for a soldier; Kenneth I Sargent, Portland, Maine of Co. “L” 180th Infantry. Gives dates of service, where he fought; wounded Oct. 1, 1944, captured Dec. 1, 1944, and released by the Russians in May of 1945.
Overall fine condition, one flyleaf totally separated but repaired, light wear on upper and lower area of the spine and corners.
A great history and reference for the library.
