Description
A well made, and most likely one of a kind, this knife was made during WWII using a number of available materials from plane parts. The knife has a 6.5 inch blade with mild clip point made of 1/32 inch thick sheet metal. The brass guard and pommel are quickly made having no high degree of finish work. The grip is entirely made of clear plexiglass with fashioned finger groves. Although crudely made, it fits the hand well, and “it would keel.”
The leather scabbard is well made with two panels stitched together. The belt loop is made from a heavy canvas from some piece of equipment, and stitched one. The initials, “JM” are cut into the front surface of the scabbard. No history with this piece.
Pitting on the blade, some light rust forming under the grip near the hilt.
Very good condition.
