This is an early ’03 Springfield crossed rifles insignia in the sew-on variety.
Tiffany & Co. 14th Infantry officer collar insignia with the ’03 Springfield rifle being used in place of the Krag. This is a sew-on type, and marked on the reverse, “TIFFANY & CO / BRONZE,” (with small logo) “M.” The word Bronze was double struck toward the end, and lightly so on the “B.” The “14” unit designation could be U.S. and or National Guard. Used from 1905 to early 1920’s. I believe this to be an earlier vintage piece.
Very good condition with most of the original dark bronze finish worn away except in protected areas.
Tiffany & Co. insignia is always highly sought after, and usually sporadically found.
