VT (N) -91 US Navy Torpedo Squadron jacket patch, un-cut, un-used, and original painted on canvas. The patch was designed by Ensign B.B. Davis while the squadron was still based at Quonset Point, R.I. Davis along with his crew were killed in a training flight in the Atlantic.
The squadron was attached to the USS Bon Homme Richard, from May to September of 1945. The unit flew the TBM – 3E “Avenger” Torpedo Bomber.
Condition is excellent!
un-cut measurements are 7″ square approximately; the patch proper is 4.5 diameter.
A scarce patch.
