War of 1812 Era American Officer’s Red Moroccan Leather Sword Belt, complete with shoulder strap, and hangers with the sword swivels. Never fitted for use with a buckle, but held together by two narrow straps and buckles on the underside. The belt was finely decorated with gilt stamped border design with criss-crossing lines in gilt all long the course of the belt, and straps/hangers.
Overall in very good + condition, as these are seldom found complete. There is some darkening of leather mostly around the area were the hilt of the sword came in contact with the leather, also overall wear to gilt, and dark toning in places.
