This is a WWII era general officer’s two piece gilt belt plate, worn on a russet color belt. During WWII, generals like George S. Patton, Lucian Truscott, etc. were seen wearing their belts in combat areas.
This belt plate or buckle if you prefer, 3.5 inches long x 2 3/8 inches high. It comes in the original issue box with wrapping paper. There are no marking on the plate at all; the box is void of marking as well.
Not commonly found on or off the russet belt.
