WWII Era US Navy 30 Foot Cutter Bronze Plate

WWII Era US Navy 30 Foot Cutter Bronze Plate.  The plate was mounted somewhere on the cutter numbered “M-585” that had a maximum capacity of 40 men.  Interesting piece despite not having found anything about these cutters.  I am going to assume this are the boats you see running from ship to ship or shore, and large enough to be hoisted aboard large or capital ships.  The term “cutter” as used by the Coast Guard, are a much larger boat.

A interesting navy piece, or great paper weight.
