CDV Of Captain John S. Locke 24th New Jersey Volunteers.  Photographed by Turner’s, Philadelphia. Signed by Captain Locke on the mount below image.  Another period ID in ink on back, but not in his hand.

Locke enlisted as captain of Company “K,” on September 3, 1862, and mustered out on June 29, 1863.

He saw action at the battles of Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville.

Very good condition with clipped corners.
