CDV – Bandsman In Dress Shell Jacket 4th Mass Cavalry.
Wearing a nine button jacket with small horn insignia on both sides of the collar, and musician’s trousers,this 4th Mass cavalry bandsman sat for his photograph by Hussey, Boston.
The forage cap is a bit more elaborate than normal for other men in the regiment, as regimental commanders would allow their bands to dress beyond regulation.
A nice clear image of this unidentified cavalryman.
