1874 Cavalry Dyer Box Modified For Use On The Prairie Belt, by cutting the belt loops and adding leather ties to fit on the woven web belts. The fleece was removed for adding perhaps a wood block for shot shells, etc. Stamped Watervliet Arsenal on the back.  The bottom of the flap below the closure is rounded and not pointed as in other types that have only a three rivet closure plate.
