1862 Patent Model- Metallic Cases For Pictures, Cards, Etc., No. 34,489. – An improvement  in Metallic Cases for Pictures, Cards, Etc.  Patented dated February 25, 1862, by 4 members of the Hall family from Philadelphia, Pa.  See photo for patent office information and claim on this model.

5 x 5.5 inches, made entirely of wood, with the exception of the metal frame at center.  The original Patent Office tag for the model accompanies this item. Writing on the old, dark paper label attached to the top of the model reads, ” Model of Mold to Cast one Stile (?) of Card Cases (?).  Also the names of the 4 Hall’s involved in this patent.  Hard to read do to age, and some wear on high spots.
