1864 Philadelphia Sanitary Fair Medal Cased, by Anthony C. Paquet, 58mm, dated 1864.
Front side shows a woman, holding cornucopia of supplies for the wounded, aiding physician examining wounded soldier.
WE GIVE OUR WEALTH FOR THOSE WHO GIVE THEIR HEALTH FOR US. The reverse – IN COMMEMORATION OF THE GREAT CENTRAL FAIR FOR THE U.S. SANITARY COMMISSION HELD AT PHILADELPHIA JUNE 1864.
Medal has a rich reddish bronze finish, in fine condition, contained in its original case.
I seen several of these, all without their original cases.
