Description

1887 Trapdoor Carbine Boot.  In unissued condition, with only wear coming from handling over the years.

This was the last of the Springfield Carbine boots, carried on the saddle, and having the improvement of the brass throat plate that protected the leather from the carbine’s hammer, and hold the shape of the boot for easier placement of the carbine. Inspector, and Rock Island Arsenal marking.

The stitching has popped at the lower 2 + inches at the bottom seam, 1 inch at top, which can be glued or sewn.  Priced right to sell.

Excellent leather.
