Description
1902 Dress Uniform Coat, Trousers & Cap for Sergeant Bandsman. This coat has light blue infantry piping around the collar as well as a light blue aiguillette. There is insignia on the collar; “U.S.” and 6th Bandsman, Sergeant chevrons and service stripes on both sleeves. It appears that this Sgt. had three years in the Artillery and then moved to Infantry, showing at least 6 years of service. No size marked that I could find, I will estimate around 34-36.
The Trousers have no size or contract label. I will guess they are size 34- 36 with a 29″ inseam. There are several areas that appear to have period repairs, small tears, weakened seams that have been reinforced, etc. The inside has lining along the top that is a bit worn, split in places, stained.
The cap is in very good condition with a lightly stained and delicate sweatband, some loss of stitching near the size tag, size is 7 1/4.
In overall very good condition; a few small moth holes, some light fraying and blemishing to the piping and the aiguillette.
Please refer to the photos for condition and detail.
