Description
1902 Enlisted Dress Coat & Cap – 18th Company Coast Artillery Corps.
A nice tailored interior in this 1902 pattern Coast Artillery private’s coat. Collar insignia for the 18th Company CAC, as well as on the dress cap. The private’s initials are written inside in the right sleeve lining, “H O M.” Rimless eagle buttons made by Handy Button Mach. Co, Chicago, a scarcer contractor I think. There are a few small moth holes, and one larger repair to the lower left cuff. Cuff and shoulder tab buttons have been upgraded to the rimmed 1912 pattern. Complete with chest cords.
The dress cap is marked on the inside of the sweatband with J.N. Susskind contract markings dated 1907. 6 7/8 size label on sweatband, with cap showing very little wear. The cap has the 1902 pattern buttons.
Overall in very good – fine condition.
