A respectable pair of company grade artillery officer’s dress epaulets.
4th Artillery Officer’s Epaulets From The Mexican War Era. There is no rank, or evidence of any ever being pinned on, so must conclude these were worn by a 2nd lieutenant. The regimental number insignia is made of all gold bullion with silver used for the number. The original tie-down strings are still present, as well as the string that held the one piece artillery officer’s buttons in place (also some new wire to assure that stay in place). The yellow silk that once covered the main underside is gone, exposing the original paper boards below. The company grade fringe shows very little damage. Great color and condition overall.
A fine condition set.
