Description
The pouch for a musician is constructed of russet leather with OD wool covered flap. Under the flap the name “Gallagher 2nd Coast” is written in period ink. The pouch itself is in fine condition and complete, including the huge 52nd Air Defense Artillery patch. Machine embroidered, and having a 6 inch diameter size, this unit insignia is most impressive.
The unit began in WWI as a Railway Artillery unit, but in WWII, began in an air defense assignment, and later reorganized as field artillery per the demands of the war.
An uncommon patch, on an equally unexpected item.
Condition is fine.
