This old militia organization from Boston captured here in color lithograph, and included the music.
Boston Light Infantry “Camp Sargeant Quick Step Sheet Music 1840.
The BLI was a militia company established in 1793, and captured here in a camp scene in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1840. The nice oval chromolitho shows the uniform of the BLI to be dark blue coatees with large gilt bullion embellishments on the chest. Like all sheet music of this period, they are excellent study material for knowing the uniforms of these companies in the pre-Civil War days.
This music was inscribed by the Boston Brigade Band to Captain E.G. Austin, and officers and members of that Corps.

Very good with a need repair to an older one on the front right. Light fold marks, but an excellent historic record for the Boston Light Infantry.
